The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum together with the Medan Branch of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI), represented by the Deputy Chairperson of the Medan PERADI Branch Leadership Council (DPC), Syahrul Sitorus, S.H., M.Hum officially handed over 45 USU Faculty of Law Students to take part in the Internship Partner Program of Merdeka Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) Odd Semester T.A. 2023/2024, located at the PERADI Medan Building.
The handover ceremony was also attended by the Secretary of the Director of the USU Education Development Directorate, Dr. Joiverdia Arifiyanto S.H., M.H, Secretary of the Advisory Board of DPC PERADI Medan, as well as Chair of the FH USU Alumni Association (IKA), Hasrul Benny Harahap, S.H., M.Hum, Member of the Advisory Board, Irfan Surya Harahap S.H, M.H., as well as Advocates as partner internship mentors, including Asrul Siagian, S.H., M.H, Temis Simaremare, S.H., M.H., Boni F Sianipar, S.H., M.Hum. and Field Supervisors.
In his remarks, the Dean of FH USU conveyed that MBKM is a program mandated by KEMENDIKBUDRISTEKDIKTI to all universities in Indonesia, one of the main performance indicators for all universities. “Especially for State Universities, the Minister of RISTEKDIKTI issued a Ministerial Regulation on the University's Key Performance Indicators (IKU), one of these Key Performance Indicators (KPI) is independent learning, in MBKM there are 8 programs run by USU and one of the most popular is an internship, especially for us at FH USU, one of the most is internship at PERADI, because many FH USU students want to become law enforcers,” explained the Dean. The Dean of FH USU also thanked PERADI for PERADI's cooperation and participation in the MBKM Program for FH USU Student Partner Internships. The Dean advised the student interns to study well during the internship to understand and gain knowledge about law practice.
