The event, held at Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) USU, initiated the friendship between USU and UI and cooperation with several Faculties and Study Programs within USU, namely the Faculty of Law (FH) USU, FEB USU, Faculty of Vocational Studies USU, Master of Law Study Program, Doctor of Law Study Program, and Master of Management USU.

Several Faculties and Study Programs at the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) collaborated to hold a Guest Lecture featuring academics and practitioners as well as a professor from the Universitas Indonesia (UI), Prof. Rhenald Kasali, Ph.D., on the theme “Opportunities and Challenges for Companies in the Era of Economic Globalization from a Business and Legal Perspective.”

 

The event, held at Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) USU, initiated the friendship between USU and UI and cooperation with several Faculties and Study Programs within USU, namely the Faculty of Law (FH) USU, FEB USU, Faculty of Vocational Studies USU, Master of Law Study Program, Doctor of Law Study Program, and Master of Management USU.

In his remarks, the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum, said that humanity is experiencing an era of disruption in the era of globalization. The world community is experiencing an industrial revolution, an information technology revolution, and a pandemic. This has an impact on behavior patterns. “And it all results in the emergence of a new perspective, a new way of life, and affects how we live our lives,” said the Dean of FH USU.

 

Prof. Rhenald Kasali, Ph.D in his presentation of material, described the developments and changes as well as the competencies that young people, especially students, must possess, “Now what competence is needed is focus, people must focus because it intermittently makes us unfocused, distracted, so we must develop focus competencies then be able to control our cognition so that we can devote attention,” said Prof. Rhenald Kasali.  Furthermore, Prof. Rhenald Kasali also added that students must be prepared for the future. Lecturers do not have to explain all lecture material; lecturers must allow students to find information.
