Medan: Public Relations of FH USU, March 6, 2026. In order to broaden the insight of students in the Labor Law concentration, the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) organized a Guest Lecture by inviting practitioner Ririn Bidasari, S.H., M.Hum, who serves as Head of the Industrial Relations and Social Security Division at the Manpower Office, accompanied by the Vice Dean I, Agusmidah, S.H., M.Hum. This activity aimed to provide students with practical insights regarding the implementation of employment law in practice.

The guest lecture was attended by students of the Faculty of Law as well as lecturers responsible for related courses. In her presentation, Ririn Bidasari discussed various important aspects of industrial relations, including mechanisms for resolving employment disputes, protection of workers’ rights, and the implementation of the employment social security system in Indonesia.

Ririn Bidasari explained that harmonious industrial relations between workers, employers, and the government are an important factor in creating stability in the world of work. Therefore, a strong understanding of labor regulations is essential, both for legal practitioners and for prospective law graduates.

“Law students need to understand not only the normative aspects of legislation, but also how these regulations are implemented in practice and how to resolve various problems that arise in the workplace,” she stated during her presentation.

In addition to the presentation of materials, the activity also took place interactively through a discussion and question-and-answer session. Students used the opportunity to ask questions related to employment issues, such as the settlement of industrial relations disputes, worker protection, and the role of the government in ensuring the welfare of the workforce.

The Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara stated that guest lecture activities are one of the efforts to strengthen synergy between the academic world and professional practice. Through this activity, students are expected to gain a real overview of the dynamics of law enforcement in the field of employment.

With the implementation of this guest lecture, the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes that students will broaden their insight and enhance their understanding of employment law practices, so that they will later be able to contribute professionally in resolving various legal issues in society.
