The Master of Notarial Law Study Program (MKn) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) successfully organized a Certificate Drafting Competition, welcoming participants from various universities across Indonesia. The opening of this prestigious academic event took place at the Faculty Advisory Council Room (DPF), FH USU.

FH USU-Public Relations: Thursday (5 December 2025), The Master of Notarial Law Study Program (MKn) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) successfully organized a Certificate Drafting Competition, welcoming participants from various universities across Indonesia. The opening of this prestigious academic event took place at the Faculty Advisory Council Room (DPF), FH USU. 

 

 

The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, USU, who, in his opening remarks, expressed appreciation for the implementation of this academic competition, which aims to enhance practical competencies and skills in producing legal instruments in the form of certificates. 

 

 

“Therefore, through this activity, it is necessary to test and further sharpen the abilities of students so that they possess not only expertise and technical skills but also ethical competence. This activity will certainly strengthen our networking, and we hope it can develop into a sustainable national-level event,” the Dean stated. 

 

 

Also in attendance at the opening ceremony were the Head of the MKn Study Program, FH USU, Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, S.H., M.Hum, the Secretary of the Study Program, Prof. Dr. Rosnidar Sembiring, S.H., M.Hum, representatives of the Regional Board of the Indonesian Notary Association (Ikatan Notaris Indonesia), the Association of Land Certifcate Officials (IPPAT), as well as various partner organizations that have long collaborated in strengthening notarial education and the notarial profession. 

 

 

This year’s competition was attended by 21 delegations from 15 universities across 6 provinces, reflecting the high level of student enthusiasm in honing technical skills and precision in drafting authentic certificates. Participants were assessed on the accuracy of legal construction, formal precision, and careful application of prevailing laws and regulations. 

 

 

Through this activity, the Master of Notarial Law Study Program of FH USU hopes to strengthen academic networks while providing a competitive platform for students to develop their quality as future professionals in the notarial field. This competition also serves as a collaborative forum between academia and professional organizations in fostering notaries who are competent, ethical, and responsive to societal needs.
