The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) continues to strengthen international research collaboration. This commitment is reflected through the offering of a Research Fellowship under the International Partnership Research Grant (IPRG) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) to an FH USU lecturer, Dr. Vita Cita Emia Tarigan.

 

FH USU-Public Relations: Tuesday (13 January 2026), The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) continues to strengthen international research collaboration. This commitment is reflected through the offering of a Research Fellowship under the International Partnership Research Grant (IPRG) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) to an FH USU lecturer, Dr. Vita Cita Emia Tarigan. 

 

 

The fellowship is part of the International Partnership Research Grant (IPRG) program, which is implemented through collaboration between Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and Universitas Sumatera Utara. The program aims to strengthen cross-country collaborative research and to enhance the quality and productivity of research within higher education institutions. 

 

 

The fellowship offer is given as a form of recognition and to support the implementation of joint research focusing on two strategic themes, namely Geopark Development and Management (Kenyir Geopark and Toba Caldera UNESCO Global Geopark) and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). 

 

 

The Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, S.H., M.Hum, welcomed the collaboration and expressed hope that the implementation of the IPRG program would have a positive impact on improving research quality, lecturer internationalization, and the academic reputation of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara at the international level.

 

 

The fellowship is planned to run for one year, from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026, with activities covering joint research planning and implementation, fieldwork involvement, data analysis, preparation of technical reports, postgraduate student supervision, and the development of scientific publications and other research outputs. 

 

 

Through this program, it is expected that institutional collaboration between FH USU and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu will be further strengthened, while also contributing meaningfully to the development of leading research focused on environmental issues and sustainable development.
