FH USU PR: The event was organized by the Faculty of Law at Universitas Sumatera Utara and was accompanied by the Vice Dean I, Agusmidah, S.H., M.Hum. The lecture focused on the concentration of Labor Law, aiming to provide students with a deeper understanding of the dynamics of employment law in Indonesia.
The guest lecture was attended by students of the Faculty of Law as well as lecturers responsible for courses related to labor and employment law. During his presentation, Paraduan Pakpahan explained several key aspects of labor law, including employment relationships between workers and employers, the protection of workers’ rights, and mechanisms for resolving industrial relations disputes.
Paraduan Pakpahan emphasized that a strong understanding of labor law is essential for law students, considering the strategic role of this field in maintaining a balanced relationship between employees and employers. He also noted that the development of labor regulations requires legal practitioners to continuously keep up with evolving legal frameworks.
“Law students need to develop a comprehensive understanding of labor law, not only from a theoretical perspective but also from practical realities in the field,” he stated during the lecture.
The session was conducted interactively through discussions and a question-and-answer segment. Students showed great enthusiasm by raising various questions regarding current issues in employment law, including worker protection, industrial relations, and the challenges involved in resolving labor disputes.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Law at Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes that students will gain broader practical insights into the implementation of labor law within the professional world. The guest lecture also reflects the faculty’s commitment to enhancing the quality of learning by involving practitioners with direct experience in the legal field.
With the successful implementation of this event, it is expected that students of the Faculty of Law will be better prepared to face professional challenges and contribute to the development and enforcement of employment law in Indonesia.
