In the second visit, the Delegation of the Faculty of Law, University of North Sumatra (FH-USU), explored cooperation networks with institutions of international reputation in the Netherlands. The delegation met with the Director of the Van Vollenhoven Institute (VVI) to prepare various cooperation plans between FH USU and Faculteit Rechtgeleerdheid—Leiden Universiteit.
The delegation of FH USU was led by Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH, MLI, with members of the delegation consisting of the Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum, Vice Dean I, Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M.Hum, Head of Master of Law Study Program, Prof. Dr. Saidin, SH, M.Hum, Secretary of Doctor of Law Study Program, Dr. T. Keizerina Devi, SH, M.Hum, CN and Secretary of Master of Law Study Program, Dr. Mahmud Mulyadi, SH, M.Hum. The delegates were officially received by Prof. Dr. Adriaan Bedner, Director of VVI Faculteit Rechtgeleerdheid - Leiden Universiteit. Also present at this meeting were several Indonesian doctoral students and researchers conducting research at VVI or the Faculty of Law Leiden.
As a result of this visit and meeting, FH USU signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with VVI, Faculteit Rechtgeleerheid, Leiden Universitet Netherlands. The MoA signing ceremony was held at the Faculty of Law Building of Leiden University in the Netherlands. This activity is the second in a series of activities of the USU FH delegation to the Netherlands, after previously visiting and meeting with the Faculty of Law Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The MoA that has been signed by the Dean of FH USU and the Director of VVI gave birth to various commitments that will be implemented in the following years, so that this MoA is not only on paper (on paper) several commitments have been achieved to be realized, including receiving visits from graduate students, especially doctoral students who want to conduct library research and document research at VVI or FH Leiden, implementation of guest lecturer programs, top scientist seminars and webinars, international peer review, VVI is willing to send its teaching staff or researchers as promoters or co-promoters in the FH USU Doctoral Program, research collaboration, VVI is willing to accept FH USU teaching staff who are on sabbatical leave at the Leiden Faculty of Law and joint research cooperation, especially in the scientific field of law and society (Law and Society).
