The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), successfully organized the 2026 Faculty-Level Selection of Outstanding Students (PILMAPRES) at the Faculty Advisory Council (DPF) Room. The event served as a prestigious platform for students to showcase their academic excellence, creativity, and innovation through scientific papers addressing contemporary legal issues.

HUMAS FH-USU: On Tuesday (April 7, 2026), the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), successfully held the 2026 Faculty-Level Selection of Outstanding Students (PILMAPRES) at the Faculty Advisory Council (DPF) Room. This event served as a prestigious platform for students to demonstrate their academic capabilities, creativity, and innovation through scientific papers that offer solutions to current legal issues and challenges.
 

The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean I, Dr. Agusmuidah, S.H., M.Hum., and was also attended by the Dean’s Expert Staff for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Dr. Robert, S.H., M.Hum. In his remarks, the Vice Dean I emphasized the importance of PILMAPRES as a platform for nurturing outstanding students.
 

“PILMAPRES is not merely a competition, but a strategic platform to develop students’ intellectual capacity, integrity, and communication skills. We hope participants can present innovative ideas that are not only academically valuable but also relevant and impactful in addressing legal issues in society,” he stated.
 

The evaluation process was conducted by a panel of judges consisting of Dr. Jelly, S.H., M.Hum., Dr. Rosmalinda, S.H., LL.M., and Siti Khairunnissa, S.H., M.H. The entire series of activities, from presentations to the Q&A sessions, was conducted in English, reflecting the students’ readiness to compete at higher levels.
 

The final results of the competition crowned Herdy Ansyari Harahap as 1st Place winner, followed by Amorita Firjatullah Tamara Lubis as 2nd Place, and Debby Maudy Panjaitan as 3rd Place. The winners will represent the Faculty of Law USU at the university-level PILMAPRES.

Through this event, the Faculty of Law USU hopes to produce outstanding students who are not only academically excellent but also capable of contributing meaningful solutions to society through impactful ideas and innovations.
