The Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU), together with the Alumni Association (IKA) FH USU, held an Alumni Gathering with the theme “Bridging The Past and The Forthcoming Future” at the Emerald Garden International Hotel. This time, the alumni meeting specifically discussed things the alumni would do to help the university, especially FH USU, related to the internationalization ranking program.
Vice Rector I of USU, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA, in his remarks and opening the event, said that alumni's role is important, namely, in addition to supporting the university, they also serve as ambassadors.
Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum, in his speech, said, “FH USU is currently on the road to international ranking; for that, with this meeting, we hope to track down alumni to consolidate each other in building the university”. Chairman of IKA FH USU, Hasrul Benny Harahap, SH, M.Hum, said, “This alumni gathering is a consolidation between alumni and their alma mater, how alumni can add a role to the progress of their alma mater, for that alumni will fully support the internationalization program and will continue to synergize with the alma mater.”
USU's Director of Internationalization and Global Partnerships, Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, ST, MT, on the sidelines of his presentation, hopes that the role of alumni can improve the education process at USU. Prof. Himsar said, “It is hoped that we from the university will always be able to get input from alumni to improve our educational process, including in international rankings.”
