In commemoration of the 64th Anniversary of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH-USU), the Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the National Leadership Council of the Indonesian Advocates Association (DPN PERADI), held an international seminar on Monday, April 23, 2018, at the USU Student Arena Building. This international seminar took the theme "Internationalizing Business Movement in the Globalization of Markets and Economics from the Perspective of Indonesian Business Law."

This seminar was opened by the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Runtung, SH., M.Hum, and the Dean of the USU Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Budiman Ginting, SH., M.Hum. Also present were Vice Dean I, Prof. Dr. OK. Saidin, SH., M.Hum. , Vice Dean II, Puspa Melati Hasibuan, SH., M.Hum. , Vice Dean III, Dr. Jelly Leviza, SH., M.Hum and all Heads and Secretaries of Departments, Masters/Doctoral Programs in Law, Master of Notary in the USU Faculty of Law.

Several Academics and Alumni of the USU Faculty of Law acted as speakers in this seminar, namely Prof. Dr. Ok. Saidin, SH., M.Hum., Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH., Mli, ​​Chair of DPN PERADI, Dr. H. Fauzie Yusuf Hasibuan, SH., M.H. In addition, there were also speakers from various countries: Theodoor Bakker, Oene J. Merseille, Shintaro Uno, and Dr. Ricardo Simanjuntak, SH., LL.M, ANZIP, CIP, MCIArb. Seminar participants consisted of Lecturers, Students, Notaries, and Advocates.

The seminar was divided into 2 (two) panel sessions with various topics presented by the speakers, including dispute resolution through international arbitration, the role of Indonesian advocates in international business relations, Cross-Border Insolvency Law, drafting international contracts, development of intellectual property, and the role of universities in the development of international business law.
