The Faculty of Law Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) Delegation working team led by Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, SH, MLI, with delegation members consisting of Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum (Dean), Dr. Agusmidah, SH, M.Hum (Vice Dean I), Prof. Dr. Saidin, SH.., M.Hum (Head of Master of Law Study Program), Dr. T. Keizerina Devi, SH, M.Hum, CN (Secretary of Doctor of Law Study Program) and Dr. Mahmud Mulyadi, SH, M.Hum (Secretary of Master of Law Study Program), made a working visit to the Faculty of Law, Maastrict University in the Netherlands. This was the third in a series of working visits by the USU Faculty of Law Delegation in the Netherlands. The delegation had visited the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit, and Leiden University the previous day.
The USU FH Delegation work team was received directly by Prof. Dr. Jan Smits (J.M.), Dean of the Faculty of Law Maastricht University, accompanied by Ass. Dr. Sascha Hardt. Prof. Dr. Sascha Hardt. The Dean of the Faculty of Law Maastricht University explained that education development at the Faculty of Law Maastricht University, among others, is related to learning methods, learning processes, curriculum, and educational support facilities. Ass. Prof. Dr. Sascha Hardt described in more detail the international collaborations they have carried out with various law faculties in Indonesia, especially to help develop curriculum and learning methods. He is willing to visit FH USU to help build the learning methods and curriculum.

The FH USU working team was allowed to attend tutorial classes at the Faculty of Law Maastricht. Many lessons were learned about applying problem-based learning practiced in these tutorial classes. The team was also given a very detailed explanation by Ass. Prof. Dr. Sascha Hardt about problem-based learning at the Faculty of Law Maastricht. The meeting continued with Prof. Dr. Fokke Fernhout, in this meeting the FH USU Delegation work team received input on the application of problem-based learning methods. The FH USU work team, Prof. Fokke and Dr. Sascha Hardt, discussed problem-based learning video tutorials that several leading law faculties in Indonesia have carried out.
This working visit provides many benefits and a commitment to cooperation in assisting the development of FH USU. The goals of this collaboration are relevant to the USU Rector's program and the mandate of the USU Board of Trustees. Several commitments have been achieved, including assistance in conducting reviews and curriculum development of FH USU, development of learning methods, especially the application of problem-based learning at FH USU, student research cooperation, especially visits by graduate students, especially doctoral students who want to conduct library research and document research at Maastricht University, collaboration in the implementation of guest lecturer programs carried out by FH USU, implementation of top scientist seminars and webinars carried out by FH USU, assistance as international peer review after the realization of cooperation and visits of Faculty of Law Maastricht University personnel to FH USU, and Joint research.
