The Expertise Board of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) and the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).

 

FH-USU PR: Tuesday (07/23/2024), the Expertise Agency of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) and the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), signed by Acting Head of the Center for Drafting Laws on Economy, Finance, Industry, Development, and People's Welfare of DPR RI Expertise Agency, Dr. Wiwin Sri Rahyani, S.H., M.H. and Dean of FH USU, Dr. Mahmul Siregar, SH, M.Hum. at the USU Rector's Audience room. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement between DPR RI Expertise Agency and FH USU was preceded by the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DPR RI Expertise Agency and USU. 

 

 

 

The cooperation covers the field of law drafting, which includes the preparation of academic papers and draft bills, MBKM activities, the field of legislation studies, the organization of education and training, research, studies, scientific activities, seminars, and workshops. This cooperation also includes data sharing, open access to research, expertise support in legislation, budget, and supervision, human resource capacity building, and internship programs at the DPR RI Expertise Agency.

 

 

 

After the signing of the MoU and MoA, the event continued with Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activities as a form of cooperation implementation. The FGD activity raised the theme “Regulating Strategic Commodities in the Plantation Sector and its Processing Industry to Encourage, Protect, and Improve the Welfare of Communities / Planters and Sources of Foreign Exchange Earnings”, taking place in the USU Academic Senate Meeting room, USU Rector Bureau Building. The speakers presented in this FGD activity were Professor of Faculty of Law USU, Prof. Dr. Ningrum Natasya Sirait, S.H.M.Li. and Professor of Faculty of Agriculture USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si.
