FH-USU Public Relations: Wednesday, 23 April 2025, the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) received a visit from the Directorate of Research and Development of the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Litbang Bakamla RI) for an audience meeting related to the preparation of an analysis and evaluation study on the implementation of the National Policy on Maritime Security, Safety, and Law Enforcement (KKPH) in the Indonesian Waters and Jurisdictional Areas over the past three years.
The audience visit of Litbang Bakamla RI was led directly by the Director of Research and Development of Bakamla RI, First Admiral I Gusti Putu Aswan Candra, M.M., CHRMP., M.Tr.Opsla., and was welcomed by the Vice Dean II and Vice Dean III of FH USU, Puspa Melati Hasibuan, S.H., M.Hum., and Dr. Mohammad Ekaputra, S.H., M.Hum. Also present and actively participating in the meeting were several lecturers: Prof. Dr. Suhaidi, S.H., M.Hum., Prof. Dr. Sutiarnoto, S.H., M.Hum., Dr. Jelly Leviza, S.H., M.Hum., Dr. Fajar Khaify Rizky, S.H., M.H., Dr. Yati Sharfina Desiandri, S.H., M.H., and Dr. Vita Cita Emia Tarigan, S.H., L.LM.
The event, held in the Faculty Advisory Board (DPF) Room of FH USU, aimed to strengthen cross-sector synergy in supporting national policies in maritime security and safety.
On this occasion, First Admiral Aswan Candra emphasized that the objective of this audience meeting was to strengthen collaboration, gather field data, and absorb various insights and inputs from both academics and practitioners. All of this information will serve as a crucial foundation for formulating national policy recommendations that are more responsive, adaptive, and contextual to Indonesia's maritime security dynamics.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FH USU, represented by the Vice Dean III of FH USU, Dr. Mohammad Ekaputra, S.H., M.Hum., stated, "It is an honor and a source of pride for us, the academic community of FH USU, to collaborate with Litbang Bakamla RI. This visit is a form of institutional relationship-building and an important step in fostering synergy between the academic world and state institutions in safeguarding Indonesia's maritime sovereignty and security."
