HUMAS FH-USU: On Wednesday (24/01/2024), the Faculty of Law USU again carried out the Adjunct Professor activity, which is part of the EQUITY Program. Presenting Assoc. Prof. Akmal Handi Ansari Nasution from OP Jindal Global University India, TWAIL, and Indonesia became the closing topic in the last session of Adjunct Professor activities.
Guided by USU Faculty of Law Lecturer, Annisa Hafizhah S.H., M.H., in this activity Assoc. Prof. Akmal invited the participants to analyze various interesting things that happened in Indonesia, especially related to the nickel export ban policy and the ban on the arrival of the Israeli national team to Indonesia.
When viewed from the perspective of TWAIL, what Indonesia has done is correct, because it departs from the desire to accommodate the needs of the Indonesian people as a developing country while still paying attention to the philosophical and juridical principles that are fundamental values for the Indonesian Nation.
TWAIL as a method of approach in interdisciplinary research can be additional ammunition for researchers to sharpen and strengthen the arguments voiced in the paper. Hopefully, there will be various publications of writings from academics of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Sumatera Utara, who implement TWAIL in their research as a follow-up to a series of Adjunct Professor activities that have been carried out for two weeks.
